Destination Weddings in McCall Idaho

Why McCall is your best bet for destination weddings

Are you looking for a destination wedding in Idaho? You don’t have to look any further than McCall. From the beautiful venues, to the lakes, streams, fields, and mountains, McCall has everything for your destination wedding. Many types of weddings in the McCall area feature rustic chic barn weddings, while others are elaborate elegant events.

McCall Weddings has done many different types of destination weddings. If you’re looking for some ideas, let us help guide you to the wedding that’s right for you.

Barn weddings
This wedding was done out at Historic Roseberry. For a rustic chic wedding, it features the best of everything the area has to offer. Beautiful old barns are a connection to the agrarian society in which our country established its roots (forgive the pun). Most of our nation was agricultural, and family events were centered around the homestead. It is a throwback to our family and our ancestors, as well as many families in this nation that still feed America. Barn weddings are one of the most popular types of destination weddings requested.

Lake Weddings
Payette Lake is a rarity in that it’s a natural lake. The difference between natural lakes and man-made lakes and reservoirs is striking. Usually, the water is much clearer in natural lakes. Mother nature has the best filtering system in front of the lake, making sure the silt levels are low, the water is clean and blue, and the trees go right to the edge. Man-made lakes are beautiful as well, however, they usually feature many tree stumps in the water at low levels. The shoreline level changes often, leaving large swaths of silty, dirty soil at the edge of the shore. The water is usually brown or green, and the visibility is much lower than a natural lake. Not to say that many man-made lakes aren’t beautiful, they just don’t compare to a natural lake.

We’ve done many weddings around Payette Lake. One great vendor on Payette lake is McCall Lake Cruises. We’ve had many wedding parties pick up guests and transport them to private areas around the lake, and many brides and grooms get married right on the boat!

There are a few private residences that offer their homes for destination lake weddings. McCall Weddings has established relationships with these venues exclusively, as we are local to the area. Besides Payette lake, there are hundreds of other lakes in the area. Getting married on a private secluded beach is a dream for many. Lets make it a reality for you!

Meadow weddings
McCall and the surrounding areas (Cascade, Donnelly, New Meadows, Lake Fork, etc.) are blessed with many open fields and meadows. Framed by the many mountains around us, they invoke peace and happiness. Tall grasses as far as the eye can see make the view exquisite. Meadows weddings are fun, open places for large families to get together. The children can run and play, and the extended family can focus on living it up with their new in-laws!

River Weddings
There are many rivers that wind through the valley, but few as beautiful as the Payette river. For many years it has been known as a great place for a destination wedding. There are many beaches and bars to get married, but for throwing your event in style, we recommend three very special places: Blackhawk on the River, the North Fork Lodge, and the No Business Lodge. All have fine amenities and rooms available nearby, and are within easy reach of downtown McCall.

Mountain Weddings
The mountains surrounding McCall used to have huge glaciers covering them. All that remains of a giant glacial field that existed 20,000 years ago are scars on the rocks and the beautiful lakes that dot the landscape. Although they aren’t glaciers anymore, you can come up during winter and get a feel of how it used to be. Payette lake was carved out of the rock by those glaciers as they retreated, making it a glacial alpine lake.

For those of you looking to exchange your wedding vows at altitude, McCall has some incredible open venues to choose from. McCall and the nearby area is surrounded by beautiful tall mountains of every shape and terrain. From the nooks and crannies, to the cliffhangers, we know many unique places to tie the knot! Want to get to the top of that mountain out in the middle of nowhere for your photo shoot or wedding? We have the resources and knowledge to get you there.

Ski resort weddings
Ever thought about getting married at a ski resort? That’s where my wife and I did. Ski resorts offer an ideal location to get married. In the off season, they’re very reasonably priced. The ski resorts here in the area, Brundage Mountain, Tamarack Resort, and the Little Ski Hill all have packages and amenities for weddings. Since its an alternative to their main business, they don’t charge as much as other types of venues. One more reason to get married at a ski resort is privacy. When they don’t have another special event taking place, they usually don’t have people milling around during the day. Parking is another great feature. Most locations have access issues, whether its parking lots of vehicles, catering delivery, equipment trucks, etc. With a ski resort, they have easy access for setting up your wedding, getting people and equipment in and out, and ease of helping family with mobility issues, in addition to beautiful views for your destination wedding.

Golf Course weddings –
Golf resorts make great locations for weddings. Beautifully landscaped park-like settings and water features are the norm for most golf resorts. In addition, they have clubhouses that provide excellent reception areas inside and out. They have easy accessability for getting people and equipment in and out. Golf resorts usually have on-site catering and venue coordinators to assist you in organizing your special event.
In the McCall area, there are several great golf courses. Meadowcreek Resort is one of the oldest golf resorts in the area. They are located in New Meadows, just 15 minutes from McCall. There is also Jug Mountain, The McCall Golf Course, and Whitetail Club. Each one is beautiful and has unique benefits for special events.

Lodge Weddings –
The Payette River Valley has so many lodges we couldn’t list them all. Whether you’re wanting to rent a private home, or a lodge on the lake, McCall and the surrounding area has everything you could want. From epic locations such as the Shore Lodge, to beautiful stone and wooden lodges on the river like the McCall RV Park, McCall has everything in between to suit you for your perfect location. Want to rent a beautiful lodge at Tamarack? Valet Vacation Rentals has access to several private lodges to stay or conduct your private ceremony. In addition, the Bear Creek Lodge in McCall has a beautiful venue for ceremonies as well as lodging. If you can’t find or identify what you want, its best to call an organization like McCall Weddings to help you locate your dream venue.

Mountain Church Weddings –
There are many churches in the McCall area, but the two most beautiful mountain churches we’ve ever seen are the Finn Church in McCall and the Arling Center Chapel at Tamarack Resort. Both are unique and offer different benefits for discerning clients. A mountain church wedding is one of the oldest and most traditional types of weddings. In addition to creating beautiful memories, it connects the old to the new. You can almost feel your ancestors watching over you, celebrating your life with pride.

Park Weddings –
The Ponderosa State park in McCall, Idaho is one of the most popular parks in Idaho for weddings and other special events. Nestled along the shore of Payette lake, Ponderosa park has many amenities that you won’t find at other parks, such as electricity and lodging. A full range of activites before your big day can be had, such as hiking, swimming, boating, or just enjoying a beautiful afternoon at one of their many beaches.
